Universities are institutions that have the ability to influence their environment significantly. In general, these effects contribute to the development of cities or towns. It is important, the evaluation by the people of this situation and informing the university about their critical assessment. Thus, not only universities will realize their lacks and needs but also misunderstandings of the people will be eradicated.
Hence, the aim of the study is to put forward the universities impact of on socio-economic transformation in the public eye through the example of Aksaray University. The significance of the study is lies in the fact that this is the first research study conducted on the sample of Aksaray University in the province of Şereflikoçhisar. In addition, it is important for establishing a kind of solidarity between people and the university and it is a source of reflection for universities.
660 questionnaires were created. to reach Şereflikoçhisar people and to represent the entire universe. 640 questionnaires were filled out by citizens. By examining the responses to the questionnaire, of these, 20 have been identified as missing and incorrect filling. And therefore they are kept out evaluation. Overall, 620 questionnaires were investigated in the study.
According to the results obtained from the question located in the survey test that economic contributions, local image and perception of social impact, Şereflikoçhisar campus schools ara regarded positive by the public for improving the quality of life in the district, also, for recognition and image of the town. However, Şereflikoçhisar school campus are considered negative that can not produce social responsibility and charity projects on behalf of Şereflikoçhisar, and unable to contribute to the reduction of unemployment in the district.
