Science and technology, which develop in many fields every day, bring about the need of highly qualified intermediate staff. The qualified personnel requirements, which are needed in production and service sectors, are required to use the technology efficiently besides their knowledge and skills. The needs for the qualified personnel, using the technology and the digital tools and bringing them as a part of their occupations, increase the importance of vocational education. Since 2011, with the opening of the Applied English and Translation Programs of vocational high schools, which educate qualified intermediate personnel, they have become intensely choice of the students. In this study, it is aimed to prove the consciousness and the competences of the students by analysing the subjects such as which social media organs that the students use, the usage frequency, with which purposes and how they use the translation applications on social networks. In the scope of this study, a survey study has been designated for the evaluation of the Applied English and Translation Program in Bulent Ecevit University Caycuma Vocational High Schools students usage of translation applications via the social media. As a result of the survey, it has been understood that the students are quite conscious about using social media and digital translation tools, but by directing this consciousness in line with the vocational education, and developing the competences by bringing a deep awareness, they are required to be prepared for the future professional life.
