Abstract


EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENTE LEVELS OF TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT STUDENTS
The tourism and hospitality sector is an industry where interaction between employee and customer in intense, which requires the effective use of emotional skills. As the number of personnel in tourism and hospitality services is also quite high, the knowledge, skills and characteristics of human resources become important substantially. The aim of the study is to determine the levels of emotional intelligence of university levels of students in tourism and hospitality management areas that are expected to work in the tourism and hospitality sector in the fature. For this purpose, a questionnaire has been applied to 269 students from Balikesir and Bandirma Onyedi Eylul Universities who have been educated in tourism and hospitality related departments. As a result of the research, it is indicated that 1,8% of the students have low level of emotional intelligence and 5,5% of them have medium level of emotional intelligence.
