Abstract


CHANGE IN AESTHETIC VALUES AND DESIGN FEATURES AT THE BRIDAL HEAD ARRANGEMENTS IN THE CONTEXT OF FASHION PROCESS:EXAMPLE OF GİRESUN PROVİNCE ŞEBİNKARAHİSAR DİSTRİCT

The life of all people evolves around three important turning points that can be classified as birth, marriage, death, and takes its form from the society to which it belongs. Marriage has been accepted as a turning point for a new life passion in terms of both boys and girls. In this regard, clothing has a different kind of values for women. On the day of the wedding, careful preparation of the bride and the fact that the society’s the most beautiful women and foreground of distinguishing is similar in many societies. Especially, bring bride to forefront with steeply shaped and decorating hair and headwear style. Marriages and wedding ceremonies to be worn in the past reflect the characteristics of each society formed with their own traditions, but today, similar designs are used in all societies, depending on the fashion factor. Although cultural values of societies are similar, they have influenced the differentiation of the form and use of clothing. Wedding ceremonies, which are the most special day of human life, differ in terms of design, formal structure and aesthetic qualities of the veils and head decorating used at the bridal ornamentations as well as the changes brought about by modern life and the effects of fashion and the changes in clothes is inevitable. In this study; It was aimed to record and document values of the bridal head decorations in chronological analysis in the context of fashion in the wedding dresses used in the district of Şebinkarahisar in Giresun province in 1940-2005 years considering the western fashion trends. As a result of the field surveys conducted by the researchers, visual documents related to wedding dresses and head decorations were searched, interviews were made with the source persons, and the examinations of the bridal head decorations used in the region depending on the factor of fashion as a result of the related written source and obtained data were analyzed comparatively. The study is important in terms of women who is living in a small town of Anatolia between 1940 and 2005 years, documenting how fashion trends are combined with their cultural values and transfer to next generations.
