Abstract

THE CONCEPT OF TIME IN THE THINKING OF MYSTICISM OF MUHAMMAD IQBAL

Muhammad Iqbal considers the concept of time as unity. It means that everything in the world is connected to each other with an organic tie. According to him, all areas of life are interrelated, and these areas are connected to God more than human. This thought leads him to interpret the time in terms of the divine point of view. For this reason, Iqbal considers the concept of time as one of the most important proofs of understanding God. Moreover, Iqbal thinks that in order to understand the real time, we should know the mystics thought rather than natural sciences. At this juncture, Iqbal follows Mevlânâ Jalaleddin-i Rûmî’s opinion, only one possible way to reach the real time is love. Thus, the time loses its importance for human being because human start to play dominate role on time, not the time on human
